GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!
We all know that Speedway volunteers are taken for granted. Sadly it’s not just a part of our sport, but every sport in our nation, where competitors feel they have the right to abuse our time, our care and our contributions.
One of the most underestimated contributor groups to our sport is our photographers, and what was once an art that was appreciated for capturing pics for magazines or a special memento for the photo album is now a highly sought-after commodity for social media content for teams, racers, tracks and clubs.
However teams, racers, tracks and clubs are constantly posting photos without prior permission or purchasing the photos, or sometimes cropping the photo so the photographer’s watermark is cut off!
Please… invest in our photographers! It could be argued that some have invested more money in their equipment than some racers have in their cars, yet some of us treat them like we’re doing them a favour by allowing them at our tracks! Let’s give them the respect they deserve and depending on your arrangement with your local photographers, do the right thing and give credit where credit is due!
