REDLINE RACEWAY JOINS SPEEDWAY AUSTRALIA
One of the nation’s foremost venues has become the latest addition to the Speedway Australia family, with Ballarat’s Redline Raceway coming on board as they enter the next phase of their development.
With a long and impressive history that includes the hosting of the largest ever Australian championship to be held in this country (the 2016 National Street Stock title), Redline Raceway attracts quality fields to its race meetings but is striving to achieve even more.
Club President Mick Purdie oversees an organisation that is readying for further improvements to the venue in coming years, with fencing, lighting and corporate facilities all on the agenda. Speedway Australia provides planning assistance to venues through its Sport Development officers (as well as occasional grants), so will be under the microscope to help the club achieve its goals.
The 2020/21 season is scheduled to kick off in February, with practices to occur once the venue is dry enough for track preparation to begin – hopefully by mid December at the latest. A packed calendar of events is in the offing once racing can commence, including the 2021 Victorian Modified Sedan title.
Details are available on their website and Facebook page, and we wish Mick and the team all the best for the upcoming season.
