RSA NSW Inc. moving forward…

Darren Cassidy, president of the Restricted Sedans Association has announced a name change and expansion for the Association.

“Restricted Sedans Association Inc.” will now be known as “Racing Sedans Australia” but will still be using the “acronym” “RSA”. In New South Wales the State Division will be called “Racing Sedans NSW”.

The RSA is extremely excited to announce their expansion across the border into Queensland with the establishment of Racing Sedans Queensland. Since the beginnings of the RSA in 1984, the association has weathered the “ups and downs” of speedway but has always enjoyed the support of a loyal and dedicated support base. Now with that support they are looking to expand across the country over the coming seasons with Queensland being the first new state division outside of NSW.

“We currently have 5 racing divisions under our banner with more than 200 licenced drivers and now with the birth of our new division 5a to be known as “Outlaw Sedans”, we feel it is time to move the RSA into other states and territories throughout Australia. We have been talking to divisions and clubs in several states and territories around the country and we are hopeful that Queensland will be the first of many to join us in our efforts to continue to offer economic racing alternatives to drivers and supporters of our great sport”, said Darren Cassidy RSA President.

“Our new friends at Racing Sedans Queensland will be offering the same racing divisions north of the border as we do here in NSW and will operate under the same divisional specifications. Planning is in its initial stages for a “State of Origin” style event to be held at Gunnedah Speedway for our Outlaw Sedans possibly in March 2017 to coincide with the RSA Street Stockers Australian Title which we hope will be the first of many of these combined state events across all our divisions in future seasons to come”, stated Darren.

Racing Sedans Queensland’s first event has been locked in for March 4, 2017 when Ausdeck Patio’s  Archerfield Speedway in association with RSA Qld will present the inaugural RSA Qld’s Street Stockers Queensland State Title.

Tim Savell, General Manager Speedway Australia said when asked, ”with over 50 different sedan divisions currently operating around Australia, any moves to streamline administrative processes either within a state or across boundaries can only be good for the sport as a whole”.

RSA Divisions include Outlaw Sedans, Limited Sedans, Street Stockers, Fender Benders, 4 Cylinders and Juniors and are eligible for A, B and Junior Grade Speedway Australia Licences.
