WA GRANTS AVAILABLE

Community organisations and local governments are set to benefit from State Government funding to encourage more participation in sport and recreation, through the development of basic infrastructure.

Minister for Sport and Recreation Dr Tony Buti recently announced $12.5 million was now available through the latest round of Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) grants.

Community groups and local government authorities can apply for grants towards projects such as new or upgraded playing surfaces, change rooms and ablutions, and sports storage.

Of the $12.5 million budget, $1 million is now set aside for projects that increase female participation in sport and recreation, such as unisex change rooms.

A further $10 million over four years will be invested in the new Club Night Lights Program (CNLP), providing financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure only.

The CSRFF and CNLP are administered by the department. Applications for both programs close on 30 September 2021.
